Philadelphia Reads W.E.B. Du Bois

Picture
W.E.B. Du Bois was one of the greatest intellectuals of the 20th century. He ceaselessly strove to act on his beliefs and fight for peace and socialism. We believe his writings are important both to understand the world today and to move forward to a new kind of society. At several sites around the city of Philadelphia, there will be reading groups which will read a certain work of Du Bois. The vision for the project is here. The details of these reading groups can be found below. Each group will meet at least twice a month.

We read to understand, and we read to act. We have prepared a pedagogy for reading, both a philosophy and a practice.
