A year long series of events in honor of the 150th anniversary of the birth of W.E.B. Du Bois
Celebrating the 150th anniversary of W.E.B. Du Bois' birth, we will begin a special project entitled "Philadelphia Reads Du Bois". At several sites around the city, people will come together to read the works of Du Bois.
As Philadelphia reads and discusses W.E.B. Du Bois' ideas, symposiums will be held to explore his concepts and the discoveries made throughout the city. See the link below to read the call to celebrate 2018 as the Year of Du Bois. Scroll below for the plan for the year. |

Du Bois, and connect his ideas to their own lives. The sites include the Central Branch of the Free Library, Mother Bethel AME Church, Temple University, 1199C Union Hall among others.

Pan Africa & Pan AsiaOn February 23rd 2018, our first symposium celebrated W.E.B. Du Bois' vision of Pan-Africa and Pan-Asia, the concept of an intercivilizational unity for the liberation of humanity. On February 24th, there was a cultural celebration with music, dance and art from different civilizations.
